Entrepreneurial Solutions Partners (ESP) aims to enable innovative, scalable, and profitable enterprises to build prosperity. Our mission is “to foster entrepreneurial solutions for prosperity.” We believe that sustainable transformation requires an entrepreneurial approach to deploy scalable and innovative solutions to foster prosperity. ESP enables people, firms, institutions, and nations to articulate, implement and disseminate solutions to their economic challenges.

Created in January 2011 in Washington DC, ESP through its principals boasts more than 19 years of experience. The firm operates today across the continent through two regional offices: one in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, covering West Africa, and a second in Kigali, Rwanda, for East, Central and Southern Africa operations; ESP has conducted programs and consultancy assignments in over 15 countries in Africa and is expanding its presence.

ESP’s approach is to provide Intelligent CapitalTM—the right combination of insights and capital—to address critical societal issues. We provide advisory services to diverse clients, including entrepreneurs, SMEs, businesses, governments and development partners in Africa. We support innovative models and provide leadership training and entrepreneurial boot camps.

ESP is organized into two practice areas to deliver on varied aspects of our mission.

Scale – Entrepreneurial workshops, seminars, competitions and platforms to foster the emergence and development of current and future leaders with real potential for transforming societies in developing countries. Inspiration, incubation, and acceleration programs offered across enterprise’ lifecycle with financing via various vehicles.

Insights – Consulting services aimed at creating and implementing innovative solutions for sustainable development through the competitiveness of value chains, business strategies, leadership and change mentality. We combine the best of a global expertise, a local perspective, and structuring initiatives for the financing of SMEs such as la « Finance S’Engage™! » and data such as “Data for Growth”.

Position Overview

We are looking for an ambitious and motivated Environmental, Social and Environment (ESG) & Gender, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (GDEI) Expert Consultant to work in ours programs with institutions, foundations and associations such as the Mastercard Foundation Africa Growth Fund (MFAGF). 

As an ESG & GDEI Expert Consultant, you will be in charge of providing business support to the private sector across Sub Saharan Africa, with a focus on Gender, Diversity, Equity; Inclusion and ESG.

We are looking for a consultant with proven experience and expertise in the design and the implementation of sustainability strategies and gender policies with the private sector, especially SMES in the African continent.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the programs, you will be in charge of:

  • (Re)defining and implementing ESP’s support for ESG and GDEI in our programs.
  • Developing and adapting the ESG and GDEI tools and training materials
  • Training and assisting the analysts in the implementation of our support to investment funds and their portfolio companies for ESG and GDEI (evaluation of ESG and GDEI practices, preparation of action plans, monitoring the implementation of action plans, etc.)
  • Ensuring to provide relevant support for ESG and GDEI through ESP’s network of Business Development Suppliers.
  • Assessing the impact of our support and ensuring the reporting to the key partners.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in a multidisciplinary course with a specialization in ESG / Sustainable Development (business school, engineering school, etc.).
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in a company, auditing or consulting firm, in the design and implementation of sustainability and gender policies in companies.
  • Proven experience in the monitoring and evaluation of sustainability performance and impact.
  • Good understanding of entrepreneurship and private sector development, preferably SMEs context and strategic framework.
  • Professional or extra-professional experience on the African continent/knowledge of the realities of the continent.
  • Multi-skilled and strong analytical skills.
  • Fluent in English and French.
